Vail Oktoberfest 2016

Hard to believe it’s already time to talk about Oktoberfest, though in Vail, with winter quickly approaching, we celebrate it in September—got to get our autumnal party on before the snow falls!  La Tour is happily situated in the heart of the action during the Vail Village leg of the Oktoberfest progressive, where the fun happens on back-to-back weekends this fall.

Ayinger Oktoberfest BeerThough the festivities in the village kick off at noon on Friday the 16th, the “Opening Ceremony” happens at 6pm, followed by live music and the Vail Vitality Center’s Stein Lifting Competition. So somewhere in between that vigorous show of athleticism and the festive tunes, stop on by the La Tour patio for an Oktoberfest bite and beverage! To celebrate, the season, during happy hour we’ll be featuring Ayinger Bavarian Festival Lager known for it’s rich, golden color. Slightly sweet, malty nose. Medium to big body and alcohol. Soft dryness from long maturation. Would pair perfectly with our White Marble Farms Pork Belly Confit and Peach Tarte Tatin!

Let La Tour serve as a home base as you make your rounds over the course of the weekend. Amid the featured activities of the Vail Oktoberfest is a whole lot of fun for both adults and children. The former group will enjoy a little keg bowling each evening, while the event’s younger patrons play in the kids area, complete with its own entertainers.

So we’ll see you around during this weekend-long event, whether it’s spectating some polka or bolting some bratwurst in the Klement’s Bratwurst Eating Contest, or just kicking back and enjoying our beautiful autumn wonderland at the base of everyone’s favorite mountain. Don’t forget to stop by for a taste of La Tour…we’re only one country over!
