If you’re asking yourself why we’re blogging about eating dessert first, maybe you’re just not the type of person we love here in Colorado. We’re kidding, a little bit.
You see, Colorado is all about the fun. Between the skiing and the hiking and the gorgeous mountain lakes, well, all we do is fun. I mean, not really. We do work and take care of the house and raise the kids, too. But we manage to make most of that fun, too. There’s not many places on earth where you can hunt for dinosaur fossils in the morning, and then come to Vail to spend your afternoon hiking through our scenic back country. If you’re going to enjoy life in Colorado, you might as well find a restaurant that encourages you to eat your dessert first!
I’m not gonna lie (or be modest, either). We have some amazing entrees at La Tour Restaurant. Rocky Mountain Trout Meuniere or Grilled Colorado Lamb Sirloin are unforgettable dinners. And our Cast Iron Angus Beef Burger for lunch? Really, folks. Colorado dining doesn’t get better than that.
But our desserts are truly where the fun spirit of Colorado lies. That vintage, outdated belief that you should eat dessert last has no place here!
We have peanut butter mousse. If you remember nothing else from this post, remember that we have peanut butter mousse at La Tour Restaurant. Because everyone needs to experience our peanut butter mousse, served with grape sorbet and peanut brittle, at least once. We also make our own waffle cones for our delicious ice cream and sorbet. Our Chocolate Raspberry Bombe is so sexy, it will make you wish you could order another (and you can; after all, it’s Colorado). But nothing sums up the unique Colorado adventure experience more than our Crème Brulee Flambee. It’s actually served on fire. We don’t need no stinkin’ s’mores in Vail!
Here at La Tour Restaurant, we’re firm believers in eating dessert first. You will be, too, once you’ve spent some quality time with our dessert menu. In fact, we highly suggest that not only do you eat your dessert first, that you plan your day around our desserts. Stop in for three chocolate truffles before lunch, and then head out to the slopes. When you’re done hiking or skiing, relax with some of that incredible Crème Brulee Flambee before you order our Lobster Bisque appetizer. Order a vintage wine to complement your dessert choice! Don’t take the chance that you won’t have any room left for dessert after dinner; instead, eat your dessert first!
